Jens Müller and Thomas Wüthrich, an architect and a product designer, collaborate under the label PanteraPantera on projects in scenography and interior design. Both work parallel in different, changing networks of independent designers.
Jens Müller, born 1967, lives and works in Basel, Switzerland.
As an independent architect, he has been working for renowned artists, Art Basel and the Beyeler Foundation for over ten years.
Thomas Wüthrich, born 1975, lives and works in Basel, Switzerland.
Together with Yves Raschle he founded INCHfurniture in 2004. They design solid teak wood furniture, developed in the Basel Studio and workshop, then produced in an Indonesian carpentry school. Since 2009 Thomas Wüthrich tutors at the Institue for Interior Design and Scenography of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Basel.
As PanteraPantera, they question the established design process and develop scenography as a form of directing.
Form evolves from experienced and anticipated interaction. They understand aesthetics as a dialectic of sensitivity and direct action. Like in the project PRIVAT* in the cultural center Kaserne Basel this can lead to situations, where design, without prior planning, evolves from daily living and its needs - design process and realisation merge.
